Abstract:
The results are presented of an investigation of the influence exerted by the inductance and by the storage and peaking capacitances of the LC circuit on the output energy of an XeCl laser. A maximum output energy of 1.5 J was obtained by reducing the peaking capacitance and the inductance to 3.6 nF and 11 nH respectively. The laser output energy doubled when six spark gaps were used instead of one.
