Abstract:
A CdS crystal was used to demonstrate experimentally for the first time that two-photon absorption of hyper-Raman scattered radiation in a field of high-intensity exciting radiation may cause the dependence of the scattered radition power on the exciting radiation intensity to depart from quadratic. The experimentally determined dependence was used to estimate the two-photon absorption coefficient, which was of the same order of magnitude as the published data on two-photon absorption in a CdS crystal.
