Photoionization mechanism of internal losses in transversely pumped gas lasers utilizing organic compounds

Calculations are made of the influence of the photoionization–recombination mechanism of increase in the internal losses on the lasing characteristics (lasing threshold, quantum efficiency) of dye lasers utilizing transverse optical pumping of gaseous or liquid active media.
