Use of periodic structures with special profiles in electron-beam-pumped semiconductor lasers

An experimental study was made of semiconductor lasers with periodic structures. The use of a special surface profile in which the mirror area exceeded the area of the transverse cross section of the resonator made it possible to improve considerably the angular distribution of the output radiation.
