Abstract:
In this review the methods for preparing iodoperfluoroalkanes and their chemical properties, namely, radical addition to the carbon–carbon multiple bonds of unsaturated compounds with functional groups, reactions with elements of groups IV–VI and their compounds, cleavage of single bonds by an Rf radical, oxidation of iodoperfluoroalkanes with degradation of the perfluoroalkyl chain or formation of iodonium derivatives, the formation of charge-transfer complexes, and α-halodefluorination reactions are examined. The uses of iodoperfluoroalkanes are described. The bibliography includes 285 references.
