Abstract:
The most important factors which affect to different extents the activity and selectivity of immobilised complexes in numerous processes have been examined. Attention has focussed particularly on a discussion of the factors responsible for the increase in cooperative stabilisation of active centres in such systems in comparison with homogeneous systems. The basic facts about polyfunctional catalysis based on immobilised complexes are presented. Certain questions and the potential for further advancement in this direction are discussed.
