Abstract:
The results of investigation on the mutual influence of hydrocarbons of various classes on the rate and route of decomposition under copyrolysis conditions are correlated and discussed. A general concept has been formulated as to the mechanism of the inhibition–initiation phenomenon based on competing chain propagation reactions according to which a hydrocarbon may act both as an inhibitor and as an initiator of decomposition. The course of this action is determined by the character of partner behaviour and by the concentration of reactive radicals. The bibliography contains 90 references.
