A systematic account is provided of data in the field of the chemistry of unsaturated nitro-compounds of the furan series. The methods of synthesis of nitroalkenes of the furan series and the characteristic features of the structure and reactivity of furylnitroalkenes are examined. The general characteristics and distinctive features of the chemical reactions of furylnitroalkenes are discussed and their applications are noted. The bibliography includes 212 references.
