Abstract: Published data on the main approaches to the formation of the heterocyclic 2-aminopyrimidine system, which is one of important pharmacophores responsible for the biological properties of its derivatives, are described systematically. Main chemical transformations of functionalized 2-aminopyrimidines and their application in the synthesis of modern pharmaceuticals are considered.
