Abstract:
All the mechanisms known at present for cyclic (repeated) chain termination involving aromatic amines, quinones, nitroxyl radicals, and variable-valence metal complexes in the oxidation of hydrocarbons, polymers, alcohols, and aliphatic amines are surveyed. The mechanisms are classified and the factors needed for the realisation of a particular mechanism are analysed. The reasons for the limitation of the number of cycles in the cyclic chain termination mechanism are considered. The bibliography includes 84 references.
