Encapsulation of organic and inorganic anions: synthesis of macropolycyclic ligands and their anion-receptor properties

Main types of macropolycyclic ligands capable of encapsulating anions of various nature are considered, as well as coordination-chemical properties of these ligands, structural features of complexes with encapsulated anions and the reasons and the ways of attaining selective complexation to particular anions.
