Abstract: Countercurrent fractional crystallisation (CFC) has been attracting increasing attention in recent years. The role of CFC among other methods of separation and purification based on crystallisation is described. Various specific arrangements for applying CFC are given. Different theories of CFC are examined, and the limitations of the process are discussed. 73 references.
