The methods of synthesis of α-ethynylcarbonyl compounds are discussed. Attention has been concentrated on the methods of synthesis of preparative value. Despite the practical approach employed, the review deals with a large number of studies devoted to methods of purely theoretical interest. The biliography includes 215 references.
