Abstract:
This review deals with the present state of the problem of electrophilic substitution in the series of six-membered nitrogen-containing heterocycles using as an example simple derivatives of neutral monoazines and diazines, their N-oxides, and certain condensed structures containing not more than 2 nitrogen atoms in one ring. Much attention has been devoted to problems of the comparison of the reactivities of heteroaromatic compounds with the results of theoretical calculations by the molecular orbital method and also the application of kinetic methods to the determination of the nature of the reactants. The bibliography includes 199 references.
