The review deals with the literature and patent publications on the polymerisation of olefinic hydrocarbons and some of their derivatives. The mechanism of the action and the specificity of catalytic systems containing mainly ethers and amines are discussed. A small section dealing with systems based on the ether complexes of aluminium alkyls is included.
