The Mössbauer Effect and the Study of the Chemical Consequences of Nuclear Transformations

S. I. Bondarevskii, A. N. Murin, P. P. Seregin

Leningrad State University

Abstract: The present review deals with one of the most important branches of radiochemistry, of considerable practical and applied importance (the preparation of "labelled" compounds, the enrichment of radioactive isotopes) and scientific and theoretical interest. An understanding of processes involving atoms which have undergone a nuclear transformation in the solid phase will make it possible to solve many problems of the physics and chemistry of the solid state.
