Abstract:
The results obtained during the past two decades on the dehydrocyclisation of aliphatic hydrocarbons in the presence of oxide catalysts are reviewed. New work on catalysts (composition, properties, promotion, regeneration, "development") is surveyed. Recent results are given on the dehydrocyclisation of alkanes, alkenes, dienes, and alkynes, with information on the accompanying side-reactions. A possible multistage mechanism for the dehydrocyclisation of alkanes on alumina–chrome catalysts is examined. A list of 257 references is included.
