Abstract:
Methods of preparation, properties, and prospects for the application of silicon-containing isocyanates are surveyed. In the Review these compounds are divided into two classes – isocyanatosilanes and "C-functional" organosilicon isocyanates – because of the substantial differences in their properties and methods of preparation. Not only monomeric compounds but also oligomeric and polymeric products containing silicon and one or more isocyanato-groups are considered. The Review covers papers that appeared up to the end of 1971 and to some extent at the beginning of 1972. A list of 304 references is included.
