Abstract:
Studies published during the last decade on the rearrangement of biradicals are reviewed. In contrast to monoradicals for which reliably established examples of rearrangements with 1,2-migration of an alkyl group or hydrogen are unknown, such rearrangements have been observed with biradicals. Data on the types of rearrangements of biradicals with 1,2-migration of an alkyl group and 1,2-, 1,4-, and 1,5-migrations of hydrogen from carbon to carbon or from carbon to oxygen are reviewed. The available data on the mechanisms of the rearrangements are discussed. The bibliography includes 65 references.
