Abstract:
The present Review represents the first attempt to unify and systematise the numerous data on the development of enantioselective effects in the formation and chemical reactions of coordination compounds, as well as in their catalytic and adsorption properties. Enantioselectivity (thermodynamic or kinetic), while being a consequence of the chiral structure of the inner coordination sphere of the complex, may develop even in processes involving only the ligands of the outer coordination sphere. The present state of the chemistry of coordination compounds not only permits but even requires that enantioselective effects should be considered separately from all types of stereospecific effects. A list of 307 references is included.
