Abstract:
The present state of the gas-chromatographic analysis of unstable and reactive substances is reviewed and described systematically in terms of the characteristic reactions of such compounds, such as hydrolysis, oxidation, thermal and catalytic degradation, and isomerisation. The requirements which must be met by the carrier gas, the solid carrier, and the stationary phase in the analysis of these compounds are discussed together with the characteristics of the qualitative analyses, as well as the apparatus employed. The bibliography includes 218 references.
