Abstract:
The characteristics of the use of organic gases and vapours as the mobile phases in the elution gas chromatography as well as additives to the usual carrier gases are considered. Methods are described for the preparation of the eluents and detection, and the role of the eluent as the factor permitting the regulation of the retention of the sorbate and the shape of the chromatographic band is discussed. The considerable advantages of organic gases and the vapours of organic compounds as eluents in preparative chromatography are demonstrated. The bibliography includes 100 references.
