Abstract:
Experimental enthalpies of formation of carbonyl, cyclopentadienyl, arene, and alkoxyl compounds of transition metals are discussed with methods for their determination. Mean dissociation energies calculated therefrom for the bonds formed by the metals in these compounds vary regularly with the nature of the ligand and the position of the metal in the Periodic System. All the thermochemical quantities cited have been recalculated on the basis of current values of the initial data. A list of 112 references is included.
