Abstract: The mass-spectrometric behaviour of nitro-derivatives of aromatic and heterocyclic compounds is examined. Attention is concentrated on the influence of the relative positions of nitro- and other functional groups on the mode of decomposition in the mass-spectrometry of positive and negative ions.
