Diazenium Salts

The literature on compounds of the type [R¹R²N=NR³]⁺X^– (diazenium salts) is surveyed. Their structures and properties are considered and methods for their synthesis as well as a wide variety of the chemical reactions of these reactive hydrazine derivatives are discussed.
