Abstract:
The use of non-silver layers based on intermolecular charge-transfer complexes (CTC) for the recording of information, the recording of the influence of light, and for microfilming is examined. The processes are based on the ability of the CTC to dissociate following the absorption of light with formation of products whose absorption spectrum is different from that of the initial films incorporating the CTC. General postulates concerning the mechanism of the photodissociation of the CTC are described and the characteristics of the photochemical reactions of specific systems used as light sensitive materials are considered.
