Abstract:
The studies carried out in recent years on the rearrangement of radicals involving the migration of $\mathrm{Cl}$ and $\mathrm{Br}$ atoms as well as the $\mathrm{R}_3\mathrm{Si}$, $\mathrm{R}_3\mathrm{Ge}$, $\mathrm{RC}=\mathrm{O}$, $\mathrm{RC}\!\!\eqslantless\!\!\genfrac{}{}{0pt}{}{\mathrm O}{\mathrm O}$, and $\mathrm{RC}$ groups in liquid-phase reactions are examined. Chemical and physicochemical data (obtained by EPR, stereochemical, tracer atom, etc. methods), supporting the idea of the intermediate formation of bridging radicals in $1{,}2$- and $1{,}3$-migrations of atoms and groups, are presented. The unusual rearrangements of aromatic perfluoro-radicals are discussed.
