Abstract:
Data obtained in studies on the mechanism of the aromatisation of paraffinic hydrocarbons are examined. Attention is concentrated on studies carried out by isotope methods. It is shown that aromatic hydrocarbons are formed from paraffins on oxide catalysts via a single pathway – the successive dehydrogenation of the aliphatic hydrocarbon with formation of a six-membered ring (cyclodiene) as a result of the thermal cyclisation of a triene.
