The Role of Free-radical Oxidation Reactions in the Molecular Mechanisms of the Ageing of Living Organisms

The review describes the present state of knowledge about the free radical oxidation reaction of biomacromolecules as one of the ageing factors and considers the possible causes of the changes in the rate of ageing and of the prolongation of life in experiments involving exposure to chemical geroprotectants.
