The Chemistry of Perfluoroisobutene

The literature data on the methods of synthesis and reactions of the highly electrophilic perfluoroisobutene with nucleophiles as well as electrophiles are surveyed. The possibilities of employing this fluoro-olefin in organofluorine synthesis are discussed. The advances in the study of the perfluoro-t-butyl anion, generated from perfluoroisobutene and the fluoride anion, are considered in a special section.
