Abstract:
The luminescence spectroscopic properties and photochemical reactions of aliphatic and aromatic amines in liquid and solid solutions are examined. Attention is concentrated on the photochemical reactions of aromatic amines derived from aniline in liquid solutions. The mechanism of the photodissociation of the nitrogen–hydrogen and carbon–nitrogen bonds and the dependence of the luminescence spectroscopic properties of amines on their structure and on the positions of their energy levels in the lowest electronically excited states are discussed.
