Abstract: The state of the quantum-chemical theory of the electronic structure of palladium compounds has been examined. The results of quantum-chemical calculations for palladium(II) and palladium(0) compounds and palladium clusters, and also of calculations for model reactions of palladium compounds, have been discussed. Methods for analysing the relationship between the electronic structure and reactivity of palladium complexes have been examined.
