Abstract: The physicochemical properties of ultradispersed media, as a particular case of energy-saturated media, have been reviewed. The size dependence of the temperatures of fusion, polymorphic transformation, and sintering, the diffusion coefficients, and the chemical activity of ultra-small particles have been explained from a single viewpoint. Methods for obtaining ultradispersed powders, and methods for producing an ultradispersed structure in metals and alloys, have been described.
