Abstract:
The reactions of αβ-unsaturated alkali metal thiolates and the analogous salts of selenols and tellurols involving the 1,3-anionic cycloaddition mechanism are examined. The principal factors determining the capacity of the unsaturated triad anions for 1,3-anionic cycloaddition are identified and surveyed, which makes it possible to predict the mode of the reactions of these compounds.
