Iminium ylides from carbenes and carbenoids: generation and synthetic applications

The carbene method for the synthesis of iminium ylides based on reactions of carbenes and metallocarbenoids with compounds containing a C=N bond is considered. Special attention is given to the use of iminium ylides in the synthesis of various classes of nitrogen-containing compounds.
