Abstract: The review discusses processes involving the thermochemical conversion of polymeric materials with a network structure (furfural and phenol-formaldehyde polymers) and polyimides into carbonaceous materials. The structural characteristics and properties of the carbonaceous materials based on the polymers are analysed and their applications are indicated.
