Oxidation of Sulphur Dioxide in Aqueous Solutions

The sulphur dioxide oxidation reactions in aqueous solutions under mild conditions are examined. The kinetics of the oxidation of SO₂ to H₂SO₄ by various oxidants are described, the reaction mechanism is discussed, and its possible practical applications are indicated.
