Thermal decomposition and photodecomposition of biscyclopentadienyl complexes of titanium, vanadium, and their analogues

Abstract: Data on the reactions involving the thermal decomposition and photodecomposition of the biscyclopentadienyl compounds Cp2MRn (M = Ti, Zr, Hf, V, or Nb) are surveyed. The pathways leading to the formation of RH as well as the rearrangement of the biscyclopentadienyl structure in the thermal and photochemical reactions are discussed. Processes involving hydrogen exchange and the exchange of the cyclopentadienyl rings are examined.
