Abstract:
The literature data on the reactions involving the addition of N-halogeno- and NN-dihalogeno-amides of carboxylic sulphonic, sulphuric, and phosphoric acids as well as the esters of N-halogeno- and NN-dihalogeno-carbamic acids to various types of unsaturated compounds are surveyed. In many cases, the addition takes place with a different regiospecificity than for other compounds with N-halogen bonds, which has been explained by differences between the reaction mechanisms. The adducts of halogeno-amides with unsaturated compounds can be used in organic synthesis, especially in the synthesis of amides, aziridines, and other heterocyclic compounds. The bibliography includes 113 references.
