αββ-Trifluorostyrene and polymers based on it

The literature data on the synthesis, properties, and applications of αββ-trifluorostyrene and the polymers based on it are surveyed. The characteristic features of the polymerisation and copolymerisation of αββ-trifluorostyrene, the methods of preparation of ion-exchange materials based on polytrifluorostyrene, and their characteristics and applications are examined. Certain aspects of the effect of fluorine atoms in the vinyl group of αββ-trifluorostyrene on its reactivity and physicochemical properties are discussed. The applications of polytrifluorostyrene-based materials and their advantages are indicated.
