Layered compounds of alkali metals in graphite in fine organic synthesis

The review deals with the use in fine organic synthesis of layered compounds of graphite with alkali metals as catalysts and reactants. The high reactivity of these compounds in alkylation, polymerisation, reduction, and certain other reactions is demonstrated.
