Abstract: It is known that some of the parameters required for direct simulation of tsunamis are bottom relief characteristics and initial perturbation data (tsunami source). The most suitable physical models related to simulation of tsunamis are based on shallow water equations. We investigate two different inverse problems of determining the tsunami source using three different additional data: underwater measurements and satellite wave-form images. We investigate gradient-type inverse problem solution and show that using the combination of two different types of data allows one to increase stability and convergence of numerical inverse problem solution. Results of numerical experiments of the tsunami source reconstruction are presented and discuss.

Keywords: shallow water equations, Dirichlet problem, satellite data, DART data, conjugate gradient method, combined data.
