$C^*$-algebras generated by cancellative semigroups

A $C^*$-algebra generated by a commuting family of isometries is a natural generalization of the Toeplitz algebra. We study the $^*$-automorphisms and invariant ideals of the $C^*$-algebra geerated by a semigroup.
