On a class of pseudohyperbolic operators with variable coefficients

We consider a class of strictly pseudohyperbolic operators of the sixth order with variable coefficients. The class contains, in particular, the generalized Boussinesq operator. Under certain conditions on the coefficients, energy estimates are established.
