Abstract:
The article is devoted to the analysis of geodata uncertainty in the integrated geographical informational system. As geodata are transformed from the raw form to semantic representations using GIS, they are applied in various conceptual models of geodata. Each model and each process of conversion bring their contribution to the common uncertainty of data. The questions discussed in the paper are the following: 1) how to create a description of various models of geographical space in the terms taking into account their inherent uncertainty characteristics; 2) how to define effects of various conversion processes on properties of geodata uncertainty which are conducted to generate geographical classes or objects on basis of map data; 3) how dissemination structure of uncertainty should be presented in the integrated GIS subject to sources of the stored uncertainty in four main models of geographical space.
