Abstract:
In geographical information systems (GIS), where quality management of geodata depends on specificity of spatial objects, the problem of the consistency gets additional complexity. In the paper, some features of a spatial consistency of geographical data sets in the vector format are described. These features are essential at elimination of mistakes of display and classification. Three types of errors that affect the corresponding types of a consistency are considered: structural, geometric, and toposemantic. Each type of error require special procedures for verification and correction. These procedures are presented in the form of a common framework.
