The energy–momentum tensor of the causally disconnected region of the universe, the cosmological constant, and the multiverse

Abstract: We continue studying the phenomenological model in which dark energy in the form of the cosmological constant is identified with the mean of the energy–momentum tensor of the causally disconnected region. We show that the proposed model leads to multiple birth of universes. The study of the potential of the scalar field corresponding to this approach allows finding a connection between fluctuations in the energy of the true vacuum in the background space and the beginning of the inflationary stage. The previous universe acts as a background space at the moment of separation of the new universe. As a result, we obtain another explanation for the small value of the true cosmological constant.

Keywords: cosmological constant, inflationary expansion, scalar field, multiverse.
