Quantum chromodynamics and matrix models in terms of singlet variables. $N^{-1}$-expansion

An effective action that depends only on singlet variables with respect to the color group is constructed for chromodynamics and matrix models. It is used to construct a $N^{-1}$-expansion for some matrix models.
