Investigation of the distribution of secondary particles associated with high-energy hadron collisions by means of the straight-line path approximation
Abstract:
In the framework of standard field-theoretical models a study is made of the problem of
multiple production of “sof” mesons in collisions of two high-energy nucleons. The
straight-line path approximation yields a Poisson distribution for the number of secondary
particles; an investigation is also made of the dependence of the average multiplicity, i.e.,
the number of secondary particles created, on the restrictions on the momenta of the secondary
particles.
