Abstract:
Effects of external actions on solitons arising under local excitations in one-dimensional molecular chains are investigated. The deceleration of solitons due to friction forces affecting the molecules of the chain is studied using the “slowly varying coefficients” method. The motion of a soliton in the presence of external fields is studied. It is shown that the physical nature of the nonlinearity of the equations is important for describing the dynamical properties of solitons.
